Meeting of Delegates from Switzerland with Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) study team in Tokyo

Delegates from Switzerland visited Juntendo University Ochanomizu Campus to have  a meeting with Digitally Inclusive Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) study team on 18th September, 2024 in Tokyo.

Members of the Swiss Delegation visiting Juntendo University were: Officials from Swiss Embassy and

Dr. Hans Groth, Chairman of the Board of the World Demographic & Aging Forum (WDA Forum). He is also a Board Member of ZurzachCare AG, a leading group of Rehabilitation Clinics in Switzerland. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) from 2009 to 2020. From 2009 to 2015, he was a Member of the Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Currently, he is a visiting Professor at the Makerere University in Kambala (Uganda) and the Andrassy University in Budapest (Hungary),

Prof. Thomas Zeltner, Swiss Medical Doctor and Lawyer. Since 1992, he has been Professor of Public Health at the University of Bern. Currently serving the Swiss Red Cross as Chairman, he is also the founder and first chairman of the World Health Organization (WHO) Foundation in Geneva. He is the Deputy Chair of the University Council of the Medical University of Vienna (Austria). Between 1991 and 2009, Thomas Zeltner served Switzerland as Secretary of State and Director General of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health.

DIHAC study team from Juntendo University comprised Associate Professor Dr. Myo Nyein Aung, Principal Investigator of DIHAC study, Department of Global Health Research, Graduate School of Medicine, Juntendo University, Lecturer Co-PI Dr Yuka Koyanagi, Juntendo University and Tokyo Ariake University, Li Li MSc, DIHAC researchers from Graduate School of Medicine, Juntendo University.

DIHAC study team presented the profile of 5 years project with diverse healthy ageing programs and digital inclusion programs for older persons in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and India. Two teams exchanged research, policy and programs especially to address population ageing and digital inclusion in Switzerland vs. Japan regarding the healthy ageing and long-term care over the afternoon coffee from 15:00 until 16:30 pm. DIHAC study team expressed sincere thanks to the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan for the visit to Juntendo University.
