The Regional Director of the ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific visited Juntendo University
Tokyo, Japan — 1st November 2024 — DIHAC study team and Juntendo University, Department of Global Health Research had the honor of welcoming Ms. Atsuko Okuda, the Regional Director of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific during a special visit to Juntendo University, 2-1-1 Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.
The ITU Director was warmly received by Professor Motoyuki Yuasa, Chair of Department of Global Health Research, and Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung, Principal Investigator of the Digitally Inclusive Healthy Ageing Communities (DIAHC) study at the meeting room, Faculty of International Liberal Arts located at education building 3 of Juntendo University.
During the visit, the ITU Director explained the global and regional leadership of ITU. Juntendo team reported DIHAC study expansion, 25th times of DIHAC meetings completion, publications and further collaboration. The team discussed emerging AI technology, the role of ITU for technical standardization and global policy guidance. The visit marks a significant step towards fostering deeper ties between the ITU and Juntendo University, with discussions centered around joint research initiatives, innovative technology projects towards digital inclusion and healthy ageing.
