Sustained Collaboration of DIHAC study in Chiang Mai Thailand, November 2024
DIHAC study investigator in Thailand Dr. Saiyud Moolphate, Department of Public Health Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Thailand and DIHAC study principal investigator Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung Department of Global Health Research, Graduate School of Medicine, Juntendo University Tokyo co-organized a meeting in Chiang Mai in the second week of November.
A stakeholder meeting was held at the Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Muang Campus. The members of “the Club of Retired Faculty and Government Officials of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University” discussed interactively with DIHAC study researchers about how digital technology and internet is applied though the using mobile phone.

The members shared what delayed the uptake of mobile phones and digital technology in northern Thailand such as monthly cost for subscription, the network coverage in mountainous area, education and income of the people in different walks of life. They showed several applications that were developed in Thailand for the health and lifestyle. They emphasized that the digital technology, smart phone and service applications are fundamental part of everyday life for older persons and everyone.
Following the stake holder meeting, DIHAC study team prepared for the forthcoming 26th DIHAC meeting on 12th December 2024.
