Congratulation to 20th Anniversary of ACAP 2025 !

It is great honor to congratulate 20th anniversary of Academic Consortium of Active Ageing in Asia Pacific. The anniversary featured as Active Ageing Conference in Asia Pacific 2025, Fukuoka Japan, 17-19 March 2025. The network completed its 20th year of collaboration. Long-lasting international collaborations brought multi-disciplinary members from several countries across the Asia Pacific. ACAP 2025 had five symposiums “1. Generative Issues on Global Aging”, “2. Cross-Border Care Workers”,”3. Dementia-Friendly Environment”, “4. Digital Inclusion for Older Persons”, “5.Inter-Generational Relationship”. It was full of thought-provoking ideas, evidence and discussion for the future populations.

Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities  (DIHAC) study principal investigator Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung, Department of Global Health Research Juntendo University, was invited to the 20th Active Aging Conference in Asia Pacific, themed “Towards Global Active Aging: Lessons Learned from Fukuoka,”  from 17th to 19th March 2025 at Fukuoka International Congress Center, Fukuoka City, Japan to give a talk at digital inclusion symposium which included panelists from academia and digital agencies from Japan, Hong Kong, and ROK.

He contributed a talk entitled “Cross-cultural Evidences and Policy Recommendation for Enhancing Older Persons’ Digital Inclusion toward Healthy Ageing in Asia” based on DIHAC study findings in Japan, ROK, Singapore and Thailand, and advocated for healthy ageing and digital inclusion. DIHAC study principal investigator Dr. Myo Nyein Aung presented the findings of DIHAC study alongside with speakers Dr. Donghee Han, Director of the Research Institute of Science for the Better Living of the Elderly (RISBLE), Republic of Korea; Professor Teresa Tsien, Professor of Practice (Gerontology), Department of Applied Social Sciences, Institute of Active Ageing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong; Ms. Katsuko Ban, Promotion Committee of Digitalization, The Japan Digital Agency,  Japan; and Professor Rebeeca Choy Yung, Founder and chair, Golden Age Foundation, Hong Kong. Moderator is Dr. Leng Leng Thang, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, Singapore.
