Building Inclusive Futures for Ageing Societies
SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute | 14 October 2025

Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung, Principal Investigator of the Digitally Inclusive Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) study,  has been invited to deliver a special lecture on Tuesday, 14th October, 2025. The event is organized by Dr. Taufique Joarder, Associate Professor and Lead of the Programme Evaluation Unit, SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute.

The lecture, titled “Community Based Social Innovations (CBSIs) for Healthy Ageing and Digital Inclusion,” will be held on-site at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore, and will also be accessible in hybrid format via Zoom. 

Across Asia, older adults are navigating the challenges of staying connected and supported in rapidly changing societies. Community‑based social innovations (CBSI) offer a potential pathway to promote healthy ageing and digital inclusion across diverse cultural contexts. This lecture will highlight how empowerment models and community approaches can respond to population ageing, bridge digital divides, and strengthen the delivery of health and social services.

The lecture will be attended by graduate students and researchers in SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute, the Duke-NUS Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE), the SingHealth Office for Ageing Research (SOAR), the Geriatric Department at Singapore General Hospital, faculties and graduate students from Juntendo University’s Department of Global Health Research.
