Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) is a cross-cultural study primarily based on Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Thailand, and further expanded to India. DIHAC is expected to expand to several countries through collaboration and network. We organize bi-monthly cross-cultural meetings in order to make trans-disciplinary learning opportunity for researchers, professionals and students. Participants are multi-disciplinary researchers, global health researchers, epidemiologists, sociologists, economists, medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, NGOs, NPOs, and PhD students from Japan, ROK, Singapore, Thailand, Kenya, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, South Africa, Ukraine, the Netherlands, U.S.A and the UK.

In the decade of healthy ageing (2020-2030), enhancing community empowerment is essential for fostering the well-being and quality of life of aging populations. By creating age-friendly environments, cities around the world are taking proactive steps to ensure that older individuals can continue to lead fulfilling lives by participating in community activities. Recently these activities are named as community based social innovation (CBSI). In this 21st Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) Study Cross-cultural Exchange Meeting, we will explore the distinct cross-cultural approaches to CBSI in India, and Singapore, gaining valuable insights into their respective strategies and innovations. Healthy ageing and long-term care initiatives in India, the world’s biggest population, and digital inclusion initiatives in Singapore, the global and Southeast Asia regional leader in digital economy, are utmost interest for scholars, researchers, professionals and policy makers.

Chairperson of the 21st DIHAC meeting is Silvia Perel-Levin, International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA) and International Longevity Centre Global Alliance (ILC GA) main representative to the UN, Geneva, Chair sub-committee on the human rights of older persons. Past Chair, Geneva NGO Committee on Ageing, Geneva. She is a highly respected international expert and leading advocate on human rights and ageing. It would be an honor for us to gain insights into the interactions among her, three engaging speakers, and the audience.

It is a great pleasure to announce the upcoming 21st DIHAC meeting which will exchange evidence, initiatives and experiences from India and Singapore cross-culturally. We want to share this learning opportunity with our friends, colleagues, experts, scholars and researchers around the world.  We would like you to join us for an informative and engaging discussion.
