24th Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) Study Cross-cultural Exchange Meeting

Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) is a cross-cultural study primarily based on Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, further expanding to India. DIHAC is expected to expand to several countries through collaboration and networking. We organize bi-monthly cross-cultural meetings in order to create trans-disciplinary learning opportunities for researchers, professionals, and graduate students.

The 24th Digitally Inclusive, Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) Study Cross-cultural Exchange Meeting will provide insights into the digital divide on inequalities in internet use among older adults, drawing on the 18-year history of the Belgian Ageing Studies (BAS). Experts from Thailand will present how ageing policies are implemented at the School for Older Persons across Thailand. Meanwhile,  Japan will share its journey to a long-term care insurance system and the role of digital transformation (DX) in promoting healthy ageing.

The chairperson of the 24th DIHAC meeting is Professor Nico De Witte, Ph.D., Professor, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. Professor Nico is the co-founder of the Belgian Ageing Studies since 2002. The project focuses on the scientific study of the social aspects of ageing.

It is a great pleasure to announce the upcoming 24th DIHAC meeting which will exchange evidence, initiatives, and experiences from Japan, Belgium, and Thailand cross-culturally. Participants are multi-disciplinary researchers, global health researchers, epidemiologists, sociologists, economists, medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, NGOs, NPOs, and PhD students from Japan, ROK, Singapore, Thailand, Kenya, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, South Africa, Ukraine, the Netherlands, U.S.A and the UK. We want to share this learning opportunity with our friends, colleagues, experts, scholars and researchers around the world.
