DIHAC study collaboration with Malaysia through the 7th International Forum of Juntendo University for Sustainable Health Ageing

The DIHAC study team welcomed Professor Mohd Rohaizat Hassan, MD, PhD, Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine at the Department of Public Health Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, The National University of Malaysia, and President of the Malaysian Association of Epidemiology, for academic exchanges and collaborative activities in Japan.

During his visit, DIHAC study investigators Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung and Associate Professor Yuka Koyanagi welcomed Professor Rohaizat and introduced him to ongoing DIHAC activities. 

Professor Motoyuki Yuasa, Faculty of International Liberal Arts, and Graduate School of Medicine, Juntendo University hosted a trip to Izunokuni city to exchange the view on community -based comprehensive care system of Japan.

On 16 December 2025, Professor Rohaizat and Professor Yuasa delivered lectures on sustainable healthy ageing at a Rotary meeting, sharing perspectives from both countries.

This was followed by the 7th International Forum for Sustainable Healthy Ageing, jointly organized by Juntendo University and the National University of Singapore. Professor Rohaizat delivered a keynote lecture, entitled “Community-based Projects of Healthy Ageing in Malaysia”.

The following day, Professor Rohaizat had a meeting with DIHAC Principal Investigator Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung (Department of Global Health Research) to discuss the implementation plan of the DIHAC study in Malaysia. The meeting included an interactive discussion based on DIHAC findings from Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, and Thailand, laying the groundwork for future collaborative research.
