Gerontological Society of America GSA conference 2023 is being held in Tempa, Florida, U.S.A from 8th to 12th November 2023. DIHAC study Singapore investigator Associate Professor Carol Ma, and researcher Ms. Elizabeth are participating in the conference. Professor Ma had made a research presentation about the barriers and opportunities among older persons in Singapore on 10th November 2023. She presented the finding of citizen workshops for digital inclusion in Singapore which were the very first steps of the DIHAC study. It is entitled “The Voice of Older Adults on Digital Inclusion for Healthy Community in Singapore”.

In her presentation Professor Ma categorized the barriers as health factors, accessibility factors, scam issues, and application and usage problems. She identified the opportunities for lifelong learning, access to health care service system, support to the family and friends and advanced use of digital devices for health.  The presentation received audience’s interest and interactive questions.
