Digital Inclusion Symposium at 15th World Ageing Festival, Asia Ageing Conference Singapore by DIHAC study team

Digitally Inclusive Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) study team announced the results at 15th World Ageing Festival, Asia Ageing Conference Singapore 8-9 May 2024 in Singapore.

 

The 15th World Ageing Festival, Asia Ageing Conference was organized in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Digitally Inclusive Healthy Ageing Communities (DIHAC) study team was invited to hold a symposium at the Asia Ageing Conference Singapore. 

The symposium was held on 9th May2024. with a title “Digital Inclusion for the Seniors” The Chair of the session was Associate Professor  Dr Carol Ma, Head of Gerontology Programme, Senior Fellow, Centre for Experiential Learning, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore.

Principal investigator Associate Professor Myo Nyein Aung Department of Global Health Research, Juntendo University, Tokyo, Japan presented how internet use and digital skills are associated with the quality of older persons’ life in the era of digitization and healthy ageing decade, with the results from four countries Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Thailand. He explained the policies and implementation of digital facilitation programs and healthy ageing in Japan, Republic of Korea and Singapore. Professor Carol Ma, investigator of the Singapore part of DIHAC study, also present older persons’ digital inclusion and healthy ageing in Singapore with the recent programs and evidence. The session was also contributed by Dr Lillian Hung, RN, PhD, Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Senior Care, University of British Columbia, School of Nursing, Canada talking about the robotic in care.
